Bill McMullen
WBB Consulting

Mr. McMullen joined WBB in 1994, following a distinguished 27-year career in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was promoted to Vice President in 1997 and to Senior Vice President in 1999. He assumed the position of Chief Operating Officer in 2002, and President and Chief Executive Officer in 2008. During his tenure with WBB, he was the chief architect for developing and implementing corporate-wide policies, procedures and analytics to support the company’s rapid growth over the last 15 years. He most recently led the company through a capitalization event where WBB was bought by Lake Capital, a Chicago-based Private Equity firm and a coincident merger with NetStar-1, a Rockville-based government contractor. The merger has the two enterprises moving forward under the WBB brand with Mr. McMullen remaining as the CEO of the combined companies.

During his Marine Corps career, Mr. McMullen held a number of operational and staff positions, including Commanding Officer, 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit (Special Operations Capable); Deputy, Aviation Plans, Policies, Budget and Legislative Affairs at Headquarters, U.S. Marine Corps; and Commanding Officer, Marine Fighter/Attack Squadron 235. His tours included ground combat operations in Vietnam as part of the 3rd and 1st Marine Divisions, air combat operations in Desert Storm with VMFA-235/MAG-11 and contingency operations in Somalia, Rwanda and Burundi, Africa with the 11th MEU (SOC). He is a graduate of the Marine Corps Command and Staff College and the Naval War College. His awards include the Legion of Merit with Combat V and 2 gold stars in lieu of 2nd/3rd awards, the Bronze Star Medal with Combat V, Air Medal Numeral 5, and Single Air Medal with Combat V.

Mr. McMullen graduated from National University with a B.S. in Business Administration. He also holds an M.A. in National Security Affairs from the Naval War College and an M.S. in Management from Salve Regina University in Newport, RI. He currently resides in Leesburg, VA with his wife Holly and two youngest children, Tess and Sophie.
